If you buy a 20 watt solar panel, with full sun...are you getting 20 watts per day, hour, or week?
I want to get a solar panel but I want to know more before getting one. I see ads for 20 watt on up to 500 watt solar panels. I would like to know if that is measured in minutes, hours, days, or months.
Watt is a unit of power and power is a rate of energy flow with respect to time.
You're imagining watt as a unit of energy, that is not right. The unit of energy would be the watt hour.
20 watts for one hour is 20 watt hours. If you figure 50% production for 8 hours a day, that would be 80 watt hours per day.
The electric company bills you in kilowatt hours, one of which is a thousand watt hours, that costs $0.12 on average.
