Maintain Your Hot Tub in Summer & Enjoy it in The Fall

When the weather changes and leaves become colorful again, it is time to go back to the joys of the hot tub. Some of us have left our hot tub or spa during the hot days of summer, preferring a cool dip in the pool instead. Many people do not use their hot tub or spa, during the warmer seasons, in exchange for a cool dip in the pool. With cooler evenings this time of year we find ourselves wanting to slip into the swirling water of a toasty warm hot tub to wash away the tensions of the day. The chilly night breeze, hitting our faces, is wonderfully complimentary to the waters of the hot spa.

A bad way to mar a peaceful scene is to check under the spa cover- and see brackish water and sense a bad smell. You can't bear to smell this water nor do you care to lay in it. Keeping the spa water clean is critical to the health of the spa and yours as well. In Northern California, there are some El Dorado Hills swimming pool service & Placerville pool repair businesses that will do all the treatments for you from replacing filters to weekly treatments and you will not be caught by surprise when you open the spa or hot tub cover to relax in your spa. Keep in mind, it doesn't matter what type of Serrano pool maintenance you decide to go with, you have to establish a trust with them so, do your research beforehand and you both will feel at ease working together.

Remember to drain the water in the hot tub or spa every three to six months, depending on its use. When you use chemicals, you must make sure that they were designed with hot tubs in mind. The chemicals used in hot tubs are not the same as those used in swimming pools. While testing the pH balance, you must keep the range to 7.2 to 7.8, then the appropriate chemicals can be added to adjust up or down as necessary. The best sanitizers that you can use will have either chlorine or bromine substrates in them. There are products which can cut down on the amount of foam and address water clarity.

Not only does your spa need chemicals, but it needs an appropriate filtration system, which runs at least three to four hours a day, to starve off debris and suspended particles. Your spa can be maintained spotlessly by cleaning the filters a couple of times a month.

Last, the spa needs to be clean and stabilized chemically so make sure to observe the basic rules of use for your safety. Maintain the water at or below 104 degrees. Hyperthermia is a real danger in hot tubs. Overly high body temps may cause damage to your organs, and even brain damage. Check with your doctor before indulging in a hot tub experience if you are pregnant, elderly, or have a medical condition such as high blood pressure or diabetes. Alcohol or drugs are not to be mixed with spa use. Leave the hot tub immediately if you experience dizziness or nausea.

Make sure your hot tub has the latest drain cover required by current safety standards. Never use an electrical appliance near the hot tub. When listening to music in the hot tub, electronics should be plugged into an outlet that has a distance from the hot tub that exceeds the cord's length.

You can use your hot tub all winter long if you take care of it properly as follows.

Will the coming winter in the northern hemisphere be warmer or cooler than the historic recorded average?

The planets warming due to mans production of greenhouse emissions.

Well El Nino which is the warm phase of the Pacific Oceans temperature cycle will contribute to the temperatures being warmer in North America and maybe Asia or Australia. I think El Nino has more of an effect on the temperatures this winter than greenhouse emissions.
